How did TwentyFour begin?
The idea for TwentyFour came after Charles Woodson discovered his affinity for fine wine; his friend, Rick Ruiz, took him behind the scenes at Robert Mondavi Winery where he learned the process of making wine; and the two of them enlisted their friend, Gustavo A. Gonzalez, an international winemaking consultant, to help them create a single barrel of Merlot for Charles to use as donation gifts. The project was so fun and the outcome so inspiring that they decided to make a second vintage. And then a third. And the rest is history.
Why the name TwentyFour?
Once it became clear that this winemaking adventure was going to continue, Woodson decided the wine needed a name. After a few glasses one night, Woodson and Ruiz settled on TwentyFour, Charles’ football number on the Oakland Raiders, the team he was playing for at the time.
Where is the vineyard located?
