Tasting Notes:

Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2006 harvest began with a very wet winter 2005 followed by a rainy March and April 2006. Though summer brought one week of typical hot weather in early July, the remainder of the growing season was characterized by unseasonably mild weather. The cooler than usual end of the season translated into the much revered long growing season that permits grapes to be harvested at optimal maturity with concentrated flavors.

Twentyfour 2006 was harvested in late October. Initial average Brix was 25.5. After cold soak, fermentation, and extended maceration, Twentyfour was pressed and filled into 100% French oak barrels (50% new) for malolactic fermentation and aging. Bottled in August 2008, total barrel time was 18 months.

Aromatically, Twentyfour Cabernet Sauvignon reveals dark fruit overtones framed by cedar and spice nuances. Initial impact on the palate is a medley of fruit flavors, joined by dried herbs, crushed rocks, creamy texture that define the dense middle. Increasing intensity, velvety tannin, and persistence are synergized in the finish to guarantee this wines age worthiness. 348 cases produced.

95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc Alcohol: 15.05% Total Acidity: 6.1 g/L pH: 3.67 Residual Sugar: <1.00 g/L (dry)

Cabernet Franc
Twentyfour Cabernet Franc is very limited production. A tiny portion of this lot was bottled in order to share the Napa Valley Cabernet Franc typicity this wine showcases. Pure fruit aromas dominate the nose matched by distinctive grape flavors across the palate. This extreme fruit expression is framed by assertive yet round tannins on the finish that persist well into the next sip. 22 cases produced.

100% Cabernet Franc
